Thanks for stopping by to read my humble, little blog. I live in a suburb of Toronto, Ontario with my husband Jonathan aka JT. We love exploring the world and doing all things creative. We particularly enjoy going on hikes, admiring nature, and taking photos.

In the summer of 2018, I decided to actively pursue a more intentional lifestyle to be a more conscious consumer. I began documenting my personal journey towards this slower lifestyle through my Instagram @candicemtay, which eventually led me to begin this blog. Through my blog, I’m discovering for myself what it’s truly like to live minimally and sustainably in a more urban environment.

I have always been an avid fashion lover and therefore, I focus a lot on slow fashion on my blog. I believe that pursuing a sustainable lifestyle is in line with slow fashion because clothing will always be a big part of my life and it is also a huge culprit for why our earth is in the condition it is in today. Beginning this blog has taught me so much about the fashion industry and how detrimental it has been to our earth and to humans in the past decades. I want to be a part of that change. I’m not here to display my perfect, minimal life in photos, because I am far from perfect. Everything I do, including this pursuit to slow living, is connected to my personal faith. I have been given grace beyond what I could imagine and it gives me hope. It covers all my fears, discontentment, disappointments, and insecurities and allows me to live freely. I don’t live each day striving for perfection in this journey. Please remember that I am not and probably will never be completely zero waste. I may also have different perspectives on certain issues, but my hope is that we can all support each other in pursuit of this journey, as I believe that with sustainability and slow fashion, everyone is on a different part of the journey and each step we take to make a difference is a step towards positive change.
